3M and Madico Security Film — Pro Install
If you can't replace the glass with laminated, film does most of the job at a fraction of the cost.
What it does: holds glass fragments in place when the pane breaks (blast or impact), slows down smash-and-grab burglars (alarm time matters), blocks up to 99.9% UV, cuts solar heat gain.
What we install:
- 3M Safety Series S40, S70, S140, S200 — 4 to 14 mil thickness
- 3M Ultra Series — safety + solar combined
- Madico Protekt Series — blast and hurricane grade
- Daylight attachment systems when you need maximum fragment retention
Common jobs: banks, jewelry stores, government, schools, places of worship, storefronts.
FAQ
Q: How do I get a price?
A: Every project is quoted to spec. The $500 deposit reserves your spot and is credited in full to your final invoice, fully refundable if you don't move forward. Call (708) 800-7120 or use the 60-second quote form and most quotes go out same day.
Q: Film vs replacing the glass?
A: Film holds broken glass in place at a fraction of the cost of laminated replacement. Replacement is the right call if the glass is failing IGUs or original framing is degraded — otherwise film is the better economics.
Q: 3M S40 vs S140 vs Ultra?
A: S40 is 4-mil entry-level safety. S140 is 14-mil — heavier impact and forced-entry resistance. Ultra Series adds solar control (heat and glare reduction) to the safety performance.
Q: UV blocking?
A: Up to 99.9 percent. Protects interiors from fade.
Q: Daylight attachment system — what is it?
A: A structural caulk or batten that bonds the film edge to the frame. Without it, the film can pull free on heavy impact. We add it on blast-rated installs.
