Custom Storefront Glass Panel

Custom-cut storefront glass panel — tempered or insulated, sized to your opening, fabricated and installed by Chicago Glass Company of Illinois.

When a storefront panel fails (impact, settlement, vandalism, age), the replacement needs to fit the existing aluminum framing exactly. We measure on site, cut to your opening, and re-glaze with the right product for your application.

What you get

• 1/4" tempered, 1" insulated (Low-E available), or laminated safety glass — spec'd to your framing and exposure
• Cut to exact opening, polished edges
• Glazing tape, gaskets, and structural silicone as required
• Disposal of the broken lite
• Installed by our crew in Chicagoland — supplied with crate for nationwide pickup or freight

Q: Can you match the existing tint and Low-E coating?
A: Yes — we identify the original glass (tint, coating, IGU make-up) and source a match. Bring us a piece or send a clear photo.

Q: Tempered vs laminated vs insulated?
A: Tempered for impact safety. Laminated for security and sound. Insulated (IGU) for energy and HVAC performance. Most storefronts use a 1" IGU with tempered on the exterior lite.

Q: How long until you can replace it?
A: Cut-to-size standard glazing typically 5–7 business days. Specialty IGUs or matched tints can be 2–3 weeks. Emergency board-up available same-day.

Q: Do you fit the existing aluminum framing or replace it?
A: Glass-only replacement if the frame is sound. Full re-framing available when the original system is beyond repair.

Q: What does this cost?
A: Storefront glazing starts around $38/sf for tempered annealed, up to $80+/sf for high-performance Low-E IGUs. Most single-panel jobs land in the $400–$1,200 installed range.
